We want you to get to know our team. So each month, we're going feature a member of our firm in a blog post.
Let's start at the top with Daniel Robert Franus.

Dan Franus is the President of Franus Architectural Associates, Inc. He is a graduate of Penn State University and a Registered Architect with more than 37 years of experience. He has designed and renovated numerous commercial facilities, municipal structures, hospitals, public housing projects, churches, schools, and private residences — and that’s just the short list. He brings a wealth of experience and attention to detail to each and every project. Dan is known for his ability to solve design challenges with simple, yet effective, solutions.

Dan began his career as an Architect working for local firms and quickly gained experience in design and project management. He has the unique experience of having worked for a Contractor/Developer for a number of years. This experience has given him a useful understanding of “Value Engineering” and “Practicality.” These are two very important characteristics that factor into his designs to this day.

Thanks to his open communication style, meticulous drawings, and efficient cost estimating, Dan’s earned the respect of clients and contractors, alike. He’s also earned the respect of the Ellwood City community where he is involved with the Chamber of Commerce, the local revitalization campaign, and serves on local building code appeals boards. He also is involved in other professional organizations, including the architectural organization SARA (Society of American Registered Architects).

In Dan’s sparse — I mean — spare time, he participates in numerous outdoor activities. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and is an avid car enthusiast. His five grandchildren keep him busy, as well.

Dan’s design philosophy is simple: “Great design doesn’t have to be expensive, it just has to be great.”
